Remembrance 2022

The Canadian Army Veterans motorcycle group join us in Ilderton on November 6th for the service of Remembrance at the cenotaph.

Impressive whichever way you look!

November 13th, 2022. Wayne Player, President of the Ilderton Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion and Leah Steele, the Poppy Chair, join Rev. Sarah Armstrong for the service of Remembrance at St. George’s.

World War II veteran, “Tex” recites the poem he wrote during the war about what Canada meant to him. Behind him is Mrs. Jacquie Moraal and Rev. Patricia Allison, who together led the service.

St. George’s, ready for Remembrance. Notice particularly on the left, on the wall beside the pulpit, the battlefield cross that marked the grave of George Cunningham, of St. George’s, who died in battle in 1917. The wooden cross, still with mud on it from the trenches, was preserved by the Ilderton Legion Branch, and recently framed and returned to St. George’s.
